Month of May

So I do believe I have a little bit of updating to do... Over Mother's Day weekend, Tanner and I went to Yellowstone for the first time EVER!!! Being from Vegas and Arizona didn't make it very convenient for us to go as kids so we went and had a great time! We stayed in West Yellowstone in Montana just right outside of the West entrance into Yellowstone. We spent the first night at a pizza place watching the Suns game after we arrived from our 4 hour drive. The next day we went to the Yellowstone Museum that was free that day because it was the first day it opened. We saw a stuffed grizzly bear named snaggle tooth and a bunch of just old western things. They had displays of when they had the earthquake and big fire in Yellowstone park quite a few years prior. After the museum we made our first trip into the park stopping at almost every side stop along the way down to Old Faithful. We drove by a little waterfall and saw PLENTY of Bison on the way. The bison would walk in the middle of the road and just stand there.. between your car and the bison, the bison is probably going to win. Sooo... we waited.. and waited until a park ranger came in their truck and hearded them off the road. We continued our journey down to Old Faithful and when we got there there was going to be about an hour before it went off again, so we went shopping around in the little gift shops. After watching Old Faithful, I looked at Tanner a little disappointed and said "I'm soo glad we drove 400 miles for THIS!" According to the people around us who had been there several times, this was not a good day for Old Faithful and to try again some other time. We were pretty tired after all of our driving and hiking around so we pretty much just headed up to the hotel after that. The next day we got up bright and early and headed back into the park to go the opposite way and see the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. It was pretty amazing to see. We hiked along the train and got a lot of really good views of the waterfall. It had this really strange turquois stream running down the middle of it. It was strange but then again Yellowstone had a lot of funky colors in a lot of their different little ponds and pools. After the waterfalls we headed down to see the mud volcano which we sadly were not able to see everything in that area because of bear sightings. Tanner thought it would be a good idea to go in anyways but I'm not that fast of a runner and didn't really want to come into contact with a bear that day so we decided not to. We headed up to Mammoth Hotsprings after that, took a few more nice pictures along the way and then headed back to the hotel for our last night in Yellowstone. We saw pleanty of Bison while we were there, a few elk, and two wolves. Tanner was very dissappointed he did not see a moose so we bought a wood sculpted moose intead :). Here are some pictures from Yellowstone.

A little later on this month, and by later I mean the 29th of May, I had won tickets to go to the United in Rock concert with Kansas, Styx, and Foreigner! I was soooo excited! I went with my Dad and mom, Tanner and then my sister Danielle ended up getting tickets and going with her friends. It was such an amazing concert and we had SUCH good time! By the time we had gotten there though the front section was full and they kept telling us we needed to move. We totally snuck past them anyways and joined some random people on the grass and it eneded up being so much fun with them. They were so nice to let us on what small space they had and let us rock out to the concert with them. Here are a few pictures from the concert..

So all in all May was a pretty awesome month for us. I got a promotion at work which led to me being able to quit my second job, before I quit that job I won a drawing for a $25 gift card to Chili's, I got to go to Yellowstone and then I won tickets to the STYX concert!! How awesome is that?
